Pre-Sidedress N Tests Save Local Grower $20,000
Reduced nitrogen rates based on pre-sidedress nitrogen test (PSNT) results performed by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Vegetable Program (CVP), saved Martin Farms of Brockport in Monroe County $20,509 and $2880 in nitrogen and fuel costs, respectively, on 600 acres of cabbage and butternut squash in 2008.
